Abrasive Material Hose

These hoses are considered heavier duty with thicker, abrasion resistant interiors to provide durability while conveying coarse, rugged, abrasive products like rocks, chips, slurry, mud, pellets, etc. Traditionally, most heavy material handling hoses were made of thick pure gum rubber, but over the years with improved compounding it has permitted lighter weight, more flexible hoses to enter the market – including hoses made of urethane. As a general guide for selection on material handling hoses, the more expensive the hose, the more durable its tube would be with regards to wear, however such hoses become less flexible with somewhat less handling characteristics compared to thinner, lighter hoses. Material handling hoses will have a finite life cycle and should be rotated during use for even wear. Service life may vary depending on the operating conditions, hours of use, and the product being conveyed.
