NL4550: Rubber J1402 DOT Air Brake 225

NL4550 ‘rubber’ air brake is designed for compressed air brake systems on trucks and buses. This hose meets SAE J1402 specifications and DOT regulation FMVSS-106 (anyone making brake assemblies must register with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106). Rubber air brake hose is typically used where it will be subject to gravel, rocks, oil, vibration, etc. – whereas the NL560 series ‘nylon’ air brake is typically routed inside the frame where it will not be subject to debris, vibration, etc. The NL4550 is a standard hose and the NL4553 is designed for use in very cold environments down to -54°C (-65°F) (meets MIL-H-3992 Type 1 Class 1).

Construction: Tube: Black synthetic rubber. Cover: Smooth, black EPDM rubber. Reinforcement: Synthetic textile layers.

Typical Fittings: 1400 series brass DOT air brake compression fittings designed specifically for rubber air brake hose (anyone making brake assemblies must register with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106).

Temperature Range: -40°C (-40°F) to +93°C (200°F)
