A4555-12: Blue Type A Airbrake Hose Assembly w/ Male NPT

A4555 (Blue) & A4556 (Red) Type A rubber air brake assemblies are used between truck tractors and trailers. Rubber air brake hose is typically used where it will be subject to gravel, rocks, oil, vibration, etc. They are supplied standard with 1/2″ NPT solid brass ends with springs. These hoses meet SAE J1402 specifications and DOT regulation FMVSS-106 (anyone making brake assemblies must register with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106). The blue assembly is used as the main line and the red is used as an emergency back-up line.

Construction: Tube: Black synthetic rubber. Cover: Smooth, blue & red EPDM rubber (blue for service, red for emergency). Reinforcement: Synthetic textile layers.

Typical Fittings: 1468 series and other brass DOT air brake compression fittings designed specifically for rubber air brake hose (anyone making brake assemblies must register with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106). N60010 Polyethylene bundling wrap or N60006 Nyloguard protective sleeve.

Temperature Range: -40°C (-40°F) to +93°C (200°F)
